ONEOFEACH is a mother & daughter design duo based in Cape Town by Tamburai and Pauline Chirume .
Pauline is a Fashion designer and contemporary visual artist with over 30 years experience.
Tamburai comes from a fashion retail and styling background, having worked with major fashion magazines such as Elle Bulgaria, and studied Consumer Science in Retail Fashion Management.
She then joined the banking world which has helped her conceptualise their ONEOFEACH dream to become a business reality.
The inspiration behind the start of ONEOFEACH was driven by our love for this continent and to celebrate and share African history to the world, by creating a luxury product which represents Africa holistically, focusing on premium quality and immaculate finish, ultimately a high end fashion product made in a Africa for the world.
We source traditional patterned fabrics from Africa and combine them with leather and suede to make one-of-a-kind handbags, belts and bangles.
All our fabrics use traditional methods like wax printing and pit-and-stone dyeing processes from Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Congo-Brazzaville.
Traditional African fabrics were customised and designed to reflect local African tradition, culture and symbolisms.
Many of the designs found on these fabrics depict events, proverbs, persons of importance or local flora and fauna.
The ancient wisdoms of our world are recorded in patterns on fabrics.
